I was watching a DVD and moved the laptop from one room to the other. Suddenly the screen goes black but I still hear the movie. I turn it off and on, nothing.
I do a hard reset by taking out the battery and it turns on but no screen. The fingerprint scannet led lights up and accepts my fingerprint but the screen stays off.
I feel like I hit a button but I don't know which one. I just got this laptop 3 days ago. I didn't have any other programs running but the movie.

In that case, it seems like one of the display hardware connections or display itself went bad. To be better if you could try connecting it to monitor or get it checked from local computer shop or HP service center.

Are you able to see HP logo on powering on?

What happens when you connect it to external monitor and power on & project it to external screen?

Nothing comes up on the screen and I don't have an external monitor to hook it up with.
