Why don't we start with the pre-requisite needs from our side?

 

What are the product name and product number of your notebook?  Look on the bottom for the ProdID in tiny letters. Post it here in your thread.

 

It is difficult to help you without having some knowledge on the hardware configuration and installed OS of your HP product. We don't even know what model year the notebook is.

 

What you are seeing should not be happening.

 

Have you run the memory and hard disk tests?  What are the outcomes of the tests?

 

Are you able to boot to the Windows login page?

 

Which OS is installed?
