I cannot find "Power Management" in my notebook's BIOS!?
I want my notebook to be turned on whenever it gets plugged in to electrical power. For this, I need to find the options of Power Management in BIOS, right?

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
For an HP laptop, the setting you're looking for to turn your laptop on automatically when plugged into power is typically found under "AC Power Recovery" or "Restore on AC Power Loss". This setting controls how the laptop behaves when it detects power after being shut down.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to find and enable this setting in the BIOS of your HP laptop:
Step 1: Enter BIOS/UEFI
Shut down your laptop completely (not in sleep or hibernation mode).
Turn on the laptop, and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (or sometimes F10) to enter the HP BIOS Setup menu. You may see a prompt to press a key for BIOS during the boot process.
- If Esc doesn’t work, try F10, which is the typical key for HP laptops.
After pressing the correct key, you should be inside the BIOS or UEFI settings menu.
Step 2: Navigate to Power Management Settings
Once in the BIOS setup, navigate to the Advanced or Power tab. The exact name of this tab can vary, but look for one of these:
- Advanced
- Power Management Options
- System Configuration
Look for a setting called "AC Power Recovery", "Power On AC", or "Restore on AC Power Loss". This option controls whether the system powers up automatically when AC power is restored (such as when you plug in the power cord).
- Restore on AC Power Loss: Set this option to "Power On" or "Last State".
- Power On: This will turn the laptop on whenever it gets plugged into an electrical outlet.
- Last State: The laptop will return to its previous state (on or off) when plugged in.
Step 3: Save Changes and Exit
- After enabling the desired option, press F10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS. The system will restart with the new settings applied.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you - however, there are not "Power Management Settings" to be found (see attached picture:

Hi @Chris_Pavilion,
Thank you for your response. Looks like the option is not there. If you can't find a specific setting in the BIOS/UEFI, it's possible that your laptop's hardware or BIOS doesn't support this feature.
Take care and have a good day.
