Hi @Batu_ZCAN

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the issue so clearly. A BIOS update followed by a “boot device not found” error and brief flashes of a blue screen often points to a misconfigured boot order, a corrupted boot sector, or a disrupted link between the BIOS and the hard drive.

Let’s walk through a structured recovery approach:

Reset BIOS to Default Settings:

  • Restart the computer and press F10 as it powers on to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Once in BIOS, go to the Main tab.
  • Select Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults.
  • Save changes and exit the BIOS.

Reseat the Hard Drive:

  • Turn off your notebook and disconnect the power cord and battery (if removable).
  • Open the access panel and reseat the hard drive, ensuring it is firmly connected.
  • Reassemble the notebook and reconnect the power.

Check BIOS Boot Order:

  • Access BIOS again by pressing F10 during startup.
  • Navigate to the Boot tab.
  • Ensure your hard drive is set as the primary boot device in the boot order.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB storage, printers).
  • Turn off the computer and unplug the AC adapter.
  • Remove the battery (if applicable).
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
  • Reinstall the battery and reconnect the AC adapter, then turn the computer back on.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Upon startup, press ESC and then F2 to access diagnostics.
  • Run the system and component tests to check the functionality of your hard drive.

Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:

  • Visit the HP support website to ensure you have the latest BIOS/UEFI firmware.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Ensure drivers and software are up-to-date using HP Support Assistant.

Additional Considerations:

  • Verify Cables and Connections: Ensure all cables and connections inside the computer are secure and not damaged.
  • Consider Using Safe Mode: Booting into safe mode can sometimes bypass software-related conflicts that affect startup.

Let me know how far you get with these steps. If the issue persists, we can explore deeper board-level diagnostics or alternate recovery paths.

while the amount of bsod decreased it still happens seldom(usually when doing stroge heavy tasks like downloading and stuff) but i am happymwith the result cuz it doesnt happen as much as it did and i can use my laptop without stress. thank you❤️

You're very welcome, @Batu_ZCAN  — I'm really glad to hear the issue has improved and you're able to use your laptop with less worry now.

Since you're still seeing occasional BSODs during storage-heavy tasks, it may be a sign of:

An aging or failing SSD/HDD

Loose drive connection (especially if it's a SATA drive)

Or a lingering driver or firmware issue

Optional Next Steps (Only If You Want to Go Further):

Run a Storage Health Check:

For SSDs: Use CrystalDiskInfo or HP Hardware Diagnostics

For HP: Tap Esc during boot → F2 for System Diagnostics → Run "Component Tests" > "Hard Drive"

Update Storage Controller Drivers:

Go to Device Manager > IDE/ATA Controllers or Storage Controllers

Right-click → Update driver

Check Event Viewer Logs:

Look for disk or storage-related warnings around BSOD times (under Windows Logs > System)

Consider a clean Windows install or SSD upgrade if the problem persists long-term

But again, if it's now manageable and you're happy — enjoy using your laptop without stress.

Feel free to return if things worsen or you want to dive deeper. You’ve done great in getting it this far!

Hi,
I have an NB 15-BS104NL and I attempted to update the BIOS from version F.32 to the recommended version F.35. I followed all the instructions in the procedure. The update progress stopped when I rebooted after performing the verification (the update procedure first installs the BIOS and then verifies the correct installation).
The NB freezes when I reboot with a black screen, the fan turns on, but then nothing else is heard.
I tried all the procedures described above, but to no avail.
Could you help me?

if i were you id updaye the bios again overnight and then update the chipset(ask for the newest chipset version around here they will give it to you) and then either install the intel solid state driver(again ask for the newest version) or the ssd driver(if it is the one that came when you brought it you can probably get the newest drivers around here)

HP Recommended

you can do all btw just dont update them in one sitting so you can check if those updates create new problems
