Hi.

I just bought an HP Elitebook 8530p on ebay. It was shipped with Windows 7, however I don't want to use this windows on it because its kinds slow and corrupt ( unable to increase laptops brightness and sound). (I planned to install win7 32bit ).

I need to access the BIOS setup but it is password protected and I don't have the password.

please tell me the whole procedure to to reset this password and send me scm.bin file.

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

 

That was the only way it could be done.
