HP Spectre x360 - 15-ap012dx (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Screen goes blank and says locking.  I have to wait a few seconds before I can push the power button to get it to come back on.  It does it sporadically.  Sometimes right after I turn it on and sometimes while I'm in the middle of doing something on the computer.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

And, aslo Update the printer firmware:

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
  • Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

I don't have a problem with my printer.  That works fine.  The problem is with my laptop.

I understood your unable to print from your computer. To correct the software conflict you need to perform root level installation on your computer.

What is the printer product model number? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

My question has nothing to do with a printer.  I can print just fine.  The problem is with my laptop, so I don't need any more advice for a printer issue.
