@LAEJ, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like you're trying to enable RAID or Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) on your OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0062la, which includes a 27.3 GB Optane module and a 512 GB SSD.
Here are some key points and steps to consider:
Why You Might Not See RAID/IRST Options in BIOS
- BIOS Version or Configuration: Some OMEN laptops may have these options hidden or disabled by default in the BIOS. You may need to update your BIOS or unlock advanced settings.
- Optane Configuration: If Optane memory is already configured in a certain mode (e.g., AHCI), switching to RAID might require disabling Optane first.
- Intel RST Driver Dependency: The Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver must be installed in Windows for full functionality, but BIOS-level RAID settings should still be visible if supported.
Steps to Try
Access BIOS Setup:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Power it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
Check for Advanced or Hidden Settings:
- Look under the Advanced or Configuration tab.
- If RAID or IRST options are not visible, your BIOS may not expose them by default.
Enable RAID (if available):
- If you see an option like SATA Mode or Storage Configuration, change it from AHCI to RAID.
- Save and exit BIOS.
Install Intel RST in Windows:
- After enabling RAID, boot into Windows and install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.
BIOS Update:
- If the RAID option is missing, check for a BIOS update on the HP support site.
Disable Optane (if needed):
- If Optane is enabled, you may need to disable it via the Intel RST software in Windows before changing BIOS settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
