Hi @nishantdada
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
If your Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop (15-fa1000) is running slow, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and improve its performance:
1. Check for Resource-Heavy Applications:
- Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Check the Processes tab to see if any applications are using a lot of CPU, memory, or disk resources. If you find any, consider closing them.
2. Disable Startup Programs:
- In Task Manager, go to the Startup tab. Disable any unnecessary programs that run at startup, as they can slow down boot time and overall performance.
3. Run Windows Update:
- Ensure your operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates.
4. Check for Malware:
- Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or any other antivirus software you have installed to check for malware or viruses that could be slowing down your system.
5. Clean Up Disk Space:
- Use the Disk Cleanup tool to remove temporary files and unnecessary system files:
- Type "Disk Cleanup" in the search bar and select it.
- Choose the drive you want to clean (usually C:), then select the file types you want to delete.
7. Check for Driver Updates:
- Outdated drivers can cause performance issues. Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button) and check for any devices with warning icons. Update any outdated drivers, especially for graphics and chipset.
8. Adjust Power Settings:
- Make sure you’re using the right power plan:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings and select High performance.
Also i would suggest you to update bios and firmware , Click HERE
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
