I needed a "smc.bin" to remove bios password on an old Elitebook 2530p
Could someone please send me one with some instructions.
I am trying to change the boot order and reinstall the OS on a new hard drive - having a nightmare.
Thanks

HP does not make those files available any longer -- and those were the only way you could reset the BIOS password.
I'm really sorry that we can not help you with this, but Community policy prohibits us from assisting you in any way with bypassing or resetting passwords.
For BIOS or power-on password resets, read this HP thread: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.
If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard for BIOS password resets, you could take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- but we are unable to assist in that.
