System Fan Error 90b, blue screen

The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly

Continued operation of the computer is not recommended by HP and might

cause unpredictable behavior that can result in a shutdown, data loss, or

computer damage.  The computer will shut down in 15 seconds.  To prevent

the shutdown and continue operation, press ENTER key now.

for more info go to www.hp.com/go/90Xfanerror.

I went to the website and followed the steps 1-4 (4 being the hard reset) and that did not work to fix the issue.

I contacted HP Support Assist in hopes of fixing this without having to have it serviced, I bought this laptop around 9 months ago.
thank you for your help

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest youContact HPin your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. Have a great day!

@Gizmo0620 -- have you tried: HP PCs - 900, 909, 90A, 90B, 90F Error Displays on a Black Screen | HP® Customer Support

Or, power-off the computer. Remove the battery. Disconnect the AC power. Hold-down the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the AC power. Restart. Does this work?
