HP Notebook - 15-af131dx (ENERGY STAR)

Laptop works fine while on AC power but when i insert the battery there is display but only a Black/blank screen. OS or HP logo wont appear. If lid is closed power plug orange light is on but battery is not charging. But If lid is open power plug white  light is blinking. FYI This battery was not used for about 7 months.

What could be the problem?

Thanks for your reply.

The diagnostic tools mentioned in kb will work if system is booting to start windows. As i mentioned my system is giving display but not booting to start windows. Even pressing esc key at start time not working (ie i cant get into BIOS) when battery is inserted.

Please help with some other solution.

Hi @far10han,

This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.
