When a computer doesn't wake up from sleep mode, there can be several causes. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Check Power Settings:
- Ensure that the power settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, the settings might prevent the computer from waking up properly. You can access these settings from the Control Panel under Power Options.
Keyboard and Mouse Settings:
- Make sure that the keyboard and mouse are set to wake the computer. This setting is also found in the Power Options, under the "Change plan settings" link, then "Change advanced power settings." Look for "USB settings" and "Power buttons and lid" settings to adjust them accordingly.
Update Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause the computer not to wake from sleep mode. Ensure that all your drivers, especially the graphics card and chipset drivers, are up to date. You can update drivers through the Device Manager or by visiting the HP Support website to find the latest drivers for your specific model.
Disable Fast Startup:
- Fast Startup is a feature in Windows that helps your computer start up faster after a shutdown. However, it can sometimes interfere with the sleep mode. Try disabling Fast Startup from the Control Panel under Power Options, then choose "Choose what the power buttons do" and "Change settings that are currently unavailable." Uncheck the "Turn on fast startup" option.
Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:
- Sometimes, an outdated BIOS/UEFI firmware can cause issues with sleep mode. Check the HP Support website for any BIOS/UEFI updates for your specific model. Be cautious with BIOS updates and follow instructions carefully, as incorrect updates can harm your computer.

Scan for Malware:
- Malware or viruses can interfere with sleep mode. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to ensure your computer is clean.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
