Who on earth would bay someone money to sit come up with a feature on a new laptop that suddenly stops a person from using that same laptop, without an excplanation or warning, and without any clear, obvious or intuitive way to fix. And who would think this is a feature users would even want? The level of stupidity in redesign for the sake or redesigning has now reached the ridiculous. I now wonder if designers are now just so bored that they are now playing with us.

If this was a car, and someone built in a new feathre that--without telling anyone--that should you turn the steering wheel right, while looking in the rear mirror, on a Sunday, while signing "Happy Birthday," the car would suddnely go into reverse--that person would be fired. There is absolutely no pratcial reason to add a feature the mouspad, that LOCKS that same mousepad, not to mention provide no explanation of how to unlcok it!

As a general rule--if a feature can accidemntally be triggered but cannot accidentally or intuitively be "untriggered" it is a BAD idea and should be dicscarded.

So how do we turn this small, new, innovative piece of idiocy off permanently anyway?
