Hi there,
I have an HP laptop 17-by0511na, i bought this laptop 4 years ago, all fine until 2 weeks ago. when i realised that, the desktop is stuck, even the clock time was wrong. So after 10 minutes, i decided to force shutdown. when i turned on, bluescreen comes up letting me know, the laptop run into a problem, and since then, it took me hours to get back to the desktop again.
I first check the diagnostic system from Bios, which showed me, something is wrong with HDD, after some checks using the diagnostic tools from Bios, i realised, the HDD is gone. Then i order a brand new HDD-MQ04ABF100, TOSHIBA, 1TB, same as the old one and i installed it, then i reinstall windows home 64 from the Microsoft website. everything is fine but, now my windows booting time is a lot longer than before.
Since i bought the laptop until now, i had a booting time of 17 seconds, i mean...in 17 seconds from power on the laptop, the system was ready to operate easily all the commands but, now it takes me even more than 2 minutes to do that.
1) all updates are done
2) Startup is clear of any unwanted programs to start with the windows ( just antivirus is on)
3) I checked youtube for tips and tricks about how to make the booting time run smoothly. Nothing worked,
4) Power battery plan is on High performance and still no results.
I need to mention that, after the booting time which is around 2:30 seconds, everything works fine and smoothly as before, i can run multiple tabs online and do whatever i want on my laptop, and the response speed is irreproachable/ Impeccable and nothing to complain about.
So the problem with my laptop is just at the booting time. where i do not understand at all why is doing this.
Does anyone know what could be wrong, please help me!
Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad English.
Take care.

Hi,
You have a module of Intel Optane in the notebook which is probably turned off. It could be the module which has the problem, or after installing the new HDD you never turned on the Optane caching system.
You will need to install the driver Intel Rapid Storage technology
Here how to use Optane.

The best idea in your notebook would be to replace the Optane module with an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD such as the Samsung 980 or similar. Then install Windows 10 on the new M2 drive. This would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the machine.
Example
I would also insert an extra module of 4GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM in the empty slot in the notebook
Hope it helps,
David
