Hi @Susamraj27,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

We understand that your Victus 15 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU reaches only around 40 W during heavy gaming. The exact expected GPU power cannot be confirmed from “Victus 15” alone because Victus configurations vary. HP also notes that maximum GPU wattage can vary depending on the hardware, software, system configuration, settings, and workload.

Before we determine whether 40 W is abnormal, could you please provide:

  • The exact Victus model/product number (for example, 15-fa1xxx or 15-fbxxxx and the product/SKU number.
  • The exact CPU and GPU configuration.
  • Are you using the original HP AC adapter supplied with the notebook?
  • Does the GPU remain around 40 W in all demanding games, or only one particular game?
  • What are the CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming?
  • In OMEN Gaming Hub, which performance mode is currently selected?
  • Have you noticed low FPS or performance compared with what you previously received from this notebook?

In the meantime
Please connect the original HP AC adapter and check OMEN Gaming Hub. If your model provides Performance Mode, select it and test again. HP's GPU performance testing for supported Victus/OMEN models is generally performed using Performance Mode in OMEN Gaming Hub.

Please also make sure the BIOS, chipset and NVIDIA graphics drivers for your exact Victus product number are up to date through HP Support.

HP provides an official reference for supported Victus/OMEN GPU TGP specifications here: OMEN by HP and Victus by HP PCs - Performance specifications for NVIDIA GPUs

Once you provide the full product number/SKU, we can check the HP specifications for your exact configuration and determine whether the GPU power you are seeing is expected.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
