Recently, I’ve noticed that the CPU fan doesn’t spin automatically like it used to. After starting or waking up the laptop, the CPU fan remains off, even when temperatures rises, until I manually open or relaunch the Omen Gaming Hub, after which it starts spinning instantly.
I’ve already tried enabling Omen Hub on startup, but it doesn’t fix the issue. Also, there’s no Thermal settings tab inside the app, and everything else seems to be working normally.

@RobiulHassan, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems the CPU fan control is not initializing properly until Omen Gaming Hub is manually launched, which is not expected behavior.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve this:
Update BIOS and Firmware
Outdated BIOS or embedded controller firmware can cause fan control issues.
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your product name: Victus by HP 15-fb2000 or 90Q63AV.
- Download and install the latest:
- BIOS update
- System firmware
- Chipset drivers
Make sure your laptop is plugged in and do not interrupt the update process.
Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub and Omen SDK
Corrupted or incomplete installations can cause thermal control modules to fail.
- Uninstall Omen Gaming Hub and Omen SDK Package from Settings > Apps.
- Restart your laptop.
- Reinstall the latest version of Omen Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store.
- Launch the app and allow it to install any additional components (like the SDK).
Enable Omen Hub Services at Startup
Even if the app launches, the background services might not be initializing.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Go to the Startup tab.
- Ensure Omen Gaming Hub and Omen SDK Service are enabled.
- Also check Services (services.msc) and ensure:
- OMEN Gaming Hub Service
- OMEN SDK Service are set to Automatic and are Running.
Check for Thermal Control Settings
If the Thermal tab is missing, it may indicate a misconfiguration or unsupported model.
- Some Victus models have limited thermal control in Omen Hub.
- If the tab is missing, try accessing HP Command Center (if available) or check for thermal settings in the BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc > F10 to enter BIOS.
- Look for Thermal or Fan Control settings under Advanced.
Reset Embedded Controller (EC)
This can help reset fan behavior.
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and power on.
If the Issue Persists:
- Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (press Esc > F2 at startup) and test the fan and thermal system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
