When I boot my laptop it shows a black screen with an error that the cooling fan isn’t working and an error code ''90B''

Are you comfortable opening your laptop and cleaning out your air ducts and cooling fans?

 

This would be the first step I would consider fixing your error code.

 

If so, these YouTube videos would be helpful: showing a generic HP laptop: How To Repair a HP Error Code System Fan 90B - YouTube, and here: How to clean a Laptops Cooling fans. Help your laptop run cooler then before. - YouTube.

 

It could be that you have to replace a defective cooling fan -or fans, if your laptop has two, replace them both.  Unfortunately, HP didn't give me access to determine the part number(s) for your HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-Cx0088ne (7DL04EA) cooling fan(s) here: HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0088ne Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support, and here: HP PartSurfer.  If you suspect the cooling fan(s) are defective, please see if you can identify the part number(s).

 

The part numbers for left & right cooling fans for HP-CX laptop series are: L20334-001 and L20335-001, but you'll have to confirm if these part numbers match yours.
