Microsoft Windows 11

I have just purchased my HP 15 laptop, and am finding that by grazing the heel of my thumb against the touchpad when typing, the cursor is moved a few lines.

Is there a way to disable the touchpad when typing? I do like to use it when I am not typing. An alternate solution would be to disable it when the USB mouse is plugged in.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, there is no touchpad driver listed when I access the Mouse dialog via the Control Panel.
