My child dropped the 430 G8 one too many times, to the point where the left hinge was just hanging on and the section of the display panel cable was sticking out.

 

The laptop still works fine.

 

I removed the base enclosure, at which point the entire left-hinge fell off. 

Despite watching the section of this video for replacing hinges - https://youtu.be/ya4jxZ2j5kA?t=1722 - , I cannot figure out how to reinsert the left hinge into the that long silver channel that sits between both hinges.
