HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy0000 (23S36AV)

The ELAN Precision TouchPad is not working on HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dy0607nz (435H7EA) with Win 11 home 23H2. Component diagnosis give no result (as no interaction possible). Device Manager not showing issues.
Trying to install this driver "sp147342.exe" bat can not download as error

Can you provide URL for this?

I did all what you said and explained it does not work as others experience the same unsolved issue as well. Hoping there will be a driver for Win 11 23H2 provided by HP.

Have you checked if the touchpad is enabled in the system?

To enable the touchpad option on the computer, follow the steps below:

  1. Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select Control panel from the context menu.
  2. From the top right corner of the screen, click on View by and select Large icons.
  3. Click on Mouse option from the window.
  4. Click on Device settings tab from the Mouse properties screen, then check and click the Enable button to turn ON the touchpad option.
  5. Click on Apply and OK.
  6. Close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Hey, There is no touchpad to enable!

TouchPad not working -> BIOS Update F.23 made -> there is no driver for Win 23H2 for
ELAN Precision TouchPad, 16. Mai 2023, sp147342.exe tried to installed but:
The driver is not supported on this OS Version (10.0.19045)

Returned to a clean new Win 10 22H2 installation with HP Assistant to download ELAN Precision TouchPad
sp147342.exe and tried to installed but:
The driver is not supported on this OS Version (10.0.19045)

 

Obviously I am not the only one having same issue:

01-08-2024        none of this works, recovering too much of a hassle. External mouse is fully operating. - unsolved

09-03-2024        ELAN Precision Touchpad Filter Driver 22.2.23.2, sp112195.exe

Please answer not just in ChatGPT manner, I can do this myself and spent now days without any solution.

Kindly provide a working ELAN Precision TouchPad driver for Win 10 22H2 and I will gladly mark it solved.

Unfortunately, WIN 10 22H2 drivers are not available. You could attempt to use any generic driver or the device's previous driver:

 

1. Choose Device Manager after pressing the Windows Key + X.

2. Expand mice and other pointing devices.

3. Select your mouse device, press Enter to open its Properties window.


 

4. Switch to the Driver tab and click on Update Driver.

5.Now select Browse my computer for driver software.

6.Next, select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Next try to Reinstall Mouse Driver

1. Press the Windows key + X, then select Control Panel.

2. In the device manager window, expand Mice and other pointing devices.

3. Select your mouse device and press Enter to open device properties.

4. Switch to the Driver tab, then select Uninstall and press Enter.

5. If it asks for confirmation, then select Yes.

6. Reboot your PC to save changes.

7. Windows will automatically install the default drivers for your mouse and will fix the touchpad not working issue.

Sorry Garb Senchau, but your general answer did not solve, it says "best driver is installed alreay". I have 7 HP PC I do troubleshooting, I need a driver not a general feedback. Can you direct this to HP support as I start loosing interest buying HP products anymore. This convertible was bought in 2021 and Touchpad with Win 11 or Win 10 is not working - actually becauce of regular Windows updates Touchpad soon after buy it started to not work any longer due incompatible driveres. Its a standard setup - now downgraded with reinstalled Win 10 22H2 in order I can sell it (with working Touchpad hopefully), why I expect support!

Issue now: I2C HID (!) driver version: 10.0.19041.1

mshidkmdf.sys

I understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when you're dealing with multiple HP PCs and need a proper solution. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no updated driver available for your device.

 

We’ve already informed the relevant team about this issue, and we hope that a compatible driver will be released soon. In the meantime, you may try using an external mouse as a temporary workaround.

Sad to hear HP is on able to help with such a standard task. The convertible was bought to use with TouchPad not with mouse as alternative; it is like a car with no working steering weel - it is useless!
Meanwhile as solution I bought another brand and I will no further promote and buy HP with such experience for a only 4 year old PC! Maybe a case for consumer protection.
