HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a HP 250 G6 notebook, product 1WY52EA#ABU,  and would like to confirm the maximum ram that I can upgrade to. I have 4g installed now and the manual has 2gb, 4gb and 8gb but is not specific as to whether these are the amounts of ram supplied or maximums.

Could someone please advise

Hi,

Since the 250 G6 can come in many configurations.

I believe yours has the i5-7200 CPU.

So, in that case, the max RAM will be 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB

Ther are two slots and at the moment you have one 4GB module, so you could add another 4GB module (or more in the empty slot)

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-250-g6-%28intel-core-i7-7500u---i5-720...

You should also really consider installing an SSD in the machine and replace the HDD which would give a great boost in everyday performance.

Hope it helps,

David

You're welcome Hugh,

Probably the SSD made a major difference to the everyday performance of the PC (if you did not already have one installed.

Let me know if you need any further help.

Take care,

David
