On accident I got Ryzen 3 2200g instead of Ryzen 3 PRO 2200g, which means it most likely won't work from what clanker tells me, the stock PC in this version is AMD A10 PRO-9700E which is hot garbage, is there any way this will turn on? I heard that I should try bios update and maybe it will post

Hi @ayumi37

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you have accidentally purchased an AMD Ryzen 3 2200G instead of the Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G for your HP EliteDesk 705 G4 35W Mini, and you would like to know whether the system will power on and POST.

The Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 3 PRO 2200G use the same AM4 platform, but HP business systems are validated for specific processor configurations. Therefore, a non-PRO processor such as the Ryzen 3 2200G is not guaranteed to be supported in the EliteDesk 705 G4 35W Mini, even if it is physically compatible.

The system BIOS and firmware determine whether the installed processor can initialize correctly. As a result, installing the non-PRO Ryzen 3 2200G could potentially result in a no-POST or unsupported-processor condition. A BIOS update may improve processor compatibility if HP has added the required CPU support, but it cannot be guaranteed to make an unsupported processor compatible.
