This is the second battery I have had in this machine.

What is the expected life?

Is it possible to replace just the one failed cell?

This is in addition to two keyboard/covers that died because they stopped charging.

What is he design number of open and close operations for the keyboard/covers?

Regards,

Francis O.

Here is what happened to me. (Elitebook 820 G2 but that's irrelevant really.)

Battery said "not charging" but laptop worked on AC.

Ran the check in the Support Assistant and it said battery had failed - buy a new one.  Same as your picture.

Ran the diagnostics check at startup and it said battery had failed.

Removed battery, cleaned the contacts on battery and laptop (using Ambersil Ambertron contact cleaner to wet a small brush).

Replaced battery and everything is now fine. Battery charges, Support Assistant says it's fine etc etc.

Quite a few posts say remove battery and then replace it which could do the same obviously depending how grubby the contacts are.

Moral of it all is - clean first - buy second!
