Hello,
I have a HP Omen 15 ax250tx laptop. Recently, whenever I press the keys ‘n’,’b’,’caps lock’, ‘del’ or ‘7’ (on number pad) while being in chrome or any browser including Microsoft word, excel etc it end up opening the Help window for that particular software. If I press any of the above keys on the desktop, it opens up Microsoft Edge Help window. But when I type the same letters in the search window of the desktop the keys are functioning as normal. I have done a keyboard component test on HP Hardware PC and Diagnostics Tool software, whenever I press the above keys the corresponding key lights up including the F1 key. It seems all the above mentioned keys are acting as F1 key. Also when I press F1 key nothing happens, it seems its disabled somehow.
I have done a windows re-install, reset laptop to factory settings, uninstalled the keyboard driver and updated it but to no avail. I am at my wits end as to what is causing this issue. Is it a software or hardware issue.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Let's try to reset the Internet Explorer:

- In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
- In the box, Are you sure you want to reset all Internet Explorer settings?, select Reset.

Hello,
Thankyou for your response. I am sorry but the solution provided didnt work. I would also like to point out 2 more things (just in case it helps in finding a solution):
1. I had to permanently disable the windows key from the registry since it would act as if it is pressed and I was unable to do any work at all since pressing any key would activate the windows shortcut.
2. The problems mentioned starts only after a certain amount of gaming. If I start the laptop after some time the keyboard acts normal (except for the windows key issue - that's permanent) - could be a temperature issue? I have checked the blower vents, they are clear. I also checked temperature during gaming (FallOut4), peak temperatures were about 80-83 deg C.
Thankyou and Best Regards

Thank you for posting back.
Let's try these steps:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating )
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
. - Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Keep me posted for further assistance.
