HP Omen 17-w200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Omen 17 with a swollen battery. The swelling has separated the the top from the bottom of the case  and I'm worried it might cause damage. I tried to contact support but because it is out of warranty the only help it offered was this community support page. This problem seems pretty common looking at all the similar posts related to battery swelling and lack of help. The battery also is no longer available on the parts store so I can't even buy a replacement. The support page on swelling says that it is not a safety issue but that I should also discontinue use, which seems contradictory and honestly pretty shady. All I want is to be able to use my laptop again.

@winstonchip

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
