Thanks Paul! The first two worked perfectly, and though the third didn't, you led me in the right direction. I found this one worked: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=ob-100467-1 for the Realtek Card Reader Driver.
Thanks, Arne

Hi..I'm new to this forum..My boss tasked me to format his friend's laptop (HP Pavilion G4)
After formatting, I searched for its drivers using its Serial Number but there isn't any driver in the list for CHIPSET..
O.S.: Win7 32-bit
Need Help..Thanks in advance...

Hi Paul,
Here's a long shot question re drivers.
I recently purchased an HP Pavilion 15-n048ca which came with Win 8. I have some older hardware which doesn't have new drivers for this OS. And Win 8 doesn't come with an XP compatibility mode like Win 7.
So I'm trying to install XP Pro in another partition on the same system (multi-boot).
(yes, I know XP is about to be "end-of-lifed" and won't get updates in the future, etc, etc, etc - been thru all that. Hence my rush to try and get a stable install done before Apr 8.)
As you probably know, XP doesn't know about AHCI SATA drivers (though I think if I had bought an XP install disk with SP3, it may have had some on it, but still may not be compatible with my h/w). But my original XP disk doesn't know anything about it. And the BIOS doesn't have an option to change the HDD to IDE compatibility mode from UEFI, though it does permit Legacy boot mode - very limited.
I can create a new install disk by slipstreaming the OS, SP3 and new drivers - if I can find something suitable.
The AMD hardware IDs are:
PCI\\VEN_1022&DEV7804&SUBSYS_216B103C&REV_00
PCI\\VEN_1022&DEV7804&SUBSYS_216B103C
PCI\\VEN_1022&DEV7804&CC_010601
PCI\\VEN_1022&DEV7804&CC_0106
I know there aren't specific XP drivers for this hardware. But AMD has commonality within a generation (or two) of hardware, which MAY (and that's a pretty big "IF") permit the use of another driver for there is an XP version.
Is there anything that may work for this system?
CPU_Z reports hardware as:
CPU/APU: A8-5545M with Radeon HD 8510G graphics
HP Mainboard: 216B
Chipset: AMD K15 IMC Rev 00
Southbridge: AMD A55/A60M Rev 11
I know another option is to create a virtual machine and install XP within it. I'm not sure the h/w I want to connect will work, though I'm also going to give that a try using VirtualBox.
I would appreciate any assistance you can provide.
cheers
