I feel silly asking this question, but I recently bought an HP Envy 2-in-1 laptop from Costco. It is this specific model:
It comes with a stylus. It worked when I bought it over the last weekend, but has now stopped functioning. I'm pretty sure the battery has died. But I cannot seem to get it to recharge. I also can't figure out which pen it comes with because there's no obvious labelling on it. This makes it very difficult to Google it and come up with any information. It seems like there are a lot of HP different pen models out there and they recharge in different ways.
Any suggestions on how to figure out which pen it is and how to recharge it?
If it helps at all, it is silver. It has two rectangular buttons down near the tip. It magnetically attaches to the side of the laptop.
Many thanks!

Hi @ThatPhotoLady ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HP Stylus Pen is not charging, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the battery: Ensure that the battery inside the HP Stylus Pen is not depleted. Some stylus pens use replaceable batteries, so check if they requires a new battery.
Verify compatibility: Ensure that the HP Stylus Pen is compatible with your HP ENVY x360 15.6 Inch 2-in-1 Laptop. You can usually find this information in the laptop's user manual or on the HP website.
Check the charging method: Confirm the correct charging method for your stylus. Some stylus pens charge through a USB port, while others may require a separate charging dock. Make sure you are using the correct charging method.
Inspect the charging port: Examine the charging port on the stylus for any damage or debris. If there's dust or lint inside, carefully clean it with a small brush or compressed air.
Inspect the laptop's stylus slot: If your laptop has a built-in stylus slot, check for any debris or damage that might be preventing the stylus from making proper contact and charging.
Update drivers: Ensure that your laptop's drivers are up-to-date, including any drivers related to the stylus functionality. You can check for driver updates on the HP website.
Restart the laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity or charging issues. Restart your laptop and see if the stylus starts charging.
Try a different USB port or charging dock: If your stylus uses a USB port or charging dock, try using a different USB port on your laptop or a different charging dock (if available) to rule out port or dock issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Well, thank you for copying and pasting this information below. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really address the issue. I still have no idea what pen I have and therefore cannot find instructions for it. And it’s pretty ironic since I was just reading an article about bad customer service, including scripts and pasting info that don’t answer the question that was asked, right before I surfed over here.
But I did manage to find a USB-C port hidden in the pen myself. I used that to recharge it. So the pen is working now.
I’d still love to know which one it actually is.
