I have an HP Probook 450 15.6 inch G10 Notebook, System ID: 8B7C, Product ID: 822P5UT#ABA, the USB-A port on the right hand side just stopped working. Its not responding to anything i plug in accept a phone (but just for power not transferring files). All the other ports are working, accept that one port on the right. Its the port Attached to the Motherboard.

Please assist.

Thank you for reaching out.

Thanks for the detailed information! Since you mentioned that the USB-A port on the right side of your HP ProBook 450 G10 no longer works for data transfer (but still provides power to a phone) and is directly attached to the motherboard, this indicates a hardware-level issue rather than a software or driver problem.

You can use this link to perform a safe hardware test that will help confirm whether the port itself is completely dead or if the motherboard’s USB controller is at fault, all without opening the laptop.

We hope this helps you identify the issue with your USB-A port. If the problem persists or you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.
