Microsoft Windows 11

My HP laptop battery died ages ago, however recently I decided to buy a new battery in time for moving into my A-levels.

I installed the new battery and upon turing on my laptop (from AC) it came on 1%, I assumed maybe the battery came empty so left it to charge for a few hours but it still was on 1%, I have tried many of the common solutions I could find, such as updating the bios and reinstalling the battery drivers these all seemed to fail.

Could someone please help me on this! Thanks!

HI

That sounds likely to be a bad battery, unless the battery charging circuit on the system board has issues.

Could you identify your notebook? Otherwise I am flying in the blind.

Hi,

I show your notebook as being from the 2015 market year.

I am not surprised that some issues, such as charging are showing up.

I would lean toward the likelihood of it being a system board component issue.

It is good that it still is working with the adapter plugged in. I suggest backing up your documents to an external device, even a usb flash drive, frequently.
