hp g6 2260
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I need help with my old g6 2260sh. Long story short, I got drunk one night, and accidentally lied on it. It broke in two, but nothing apart from the bezel/hinges are damaged, so patched it up as a temporary solution. I would like to replace the whole frame both top and bottom, but it's really hard to find parts, especially for this model. As my last resort to fix it, I've decided to get a used (broken) laptop, however I can't find info which models has the same motherboard form factor. Can anyone help me with this?

my motherboard is:

Model 184A (Socket FT1)
Version 57.35
Chipset Vendor AMD
Chipset Model K15 IMC
Chipset Revision 00
Southbridge Vendor AMD
Southbridge Model 08 FCH
Southbridge Revision 2.4

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 15.6-inch diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit display (1366x768) installed on the PC.

Here is the part number: 681806-001 for DISPLAY BEZEL and 681811-001 DISPLAY HINGE COVERS and you can purchase these parts from an online store.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Thanks for the reply, however, both of the parts you've linked are intact. The bottom  base is totally destroyed, so that's the main issue, and the top side of the bezel, which has the hinges attached to. I've glued them back with epoxy but the bottom cover can't take the stress by itself, due to thepoor design.
