Description of the Problem:

My HP ZBook Fury 15 G7 suddenly started running the fans at maximum speed even when the system is cool and idle. After checking the hardware temperatures, I discovered that one of the sensors is reporting an abnormal and incorrect value.

  • CPU and GPU temperatures are normal.

  • However, one temperature sensor shows an abnormal constant reading of 127°C.

  • Because of this false high temperature reading, the fans run at full speed all the time.

  • This issue appears to be caused by a faulty or damaged motherboard temperature sensor or a problem in the EC (Embedded Controller) reading the sensor.
