Looking for method to remotely detect model or type of HP docking station that is in use with the Laptop if possible in some way using PowerShell or MECM.

I looked through a couple of websites and found out that it is not possible to check the model or a serial number of the docking station that is connected to your PC using Powershell or CMD. Your best bet will be to manually check it on the label of the docking station.

Hello

HP provides a WMI extension for two Docking at the moment.

They are

  • HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2
  • HP USB-C Dock G5.

with this two models you can get several information: model. serial Number , MAC Address, firmware version.

if you have one of those two dockings or HP Docking monitor, I'll provide more information.

bye

I'm having the same problem and I'm using a HP USB-C Dock G5. Where can I find that WMI extension?
