Hi all,
currently have an issue. HP 8750W quad, currently running 4gb sticks of 1Rx8 PC3L-12800S. planning to upgrade to 4x 8gb sticks of DDR3L 1600mhz PC3L-12800 1.35v. When all 8gb sticks are installed, unit just flashes 3 times on Caps lock, but when old memory refitted boots just fine.
Refitting one stick of 8gb and 3x4gb, boots fine also and shows 20gb total (1x8GB+3x4gb) in hardware monitor.
swapping out stick by stick 4gb to 8gb and reboots validating each stick is usable and accessible in win10. Initially assumed bad memory controller, but that was false as old sticks worked.
oddly using CPU-z shows 1&3 and 2&4, however when 1&3 are side by side (under back cover) and 2&4 are under keyboard. CPU-z then reports full stick details and new total 2x8gb + 2x4gb.
What am i missing? i know the older machines liked always to have 2 sticks same, but its the odd behaviour with a full set of 4x8gb that got me.

solved,
took all 4x8gb out, all 4gb back in. each time i rebooted i verified new increased memory. now running on all 4 8gb units.
no error on screen just the capslock flash issue first time. didnt return when i had all 8gb back in at end of swapping each unit out in turn.
