Are you looking at the right network adapter?

c04823617.pdf (hp.com)

If you look at chapter 5, pages 65 & 66, the antenna wire labeled as '5' is for the WWAN adapter.

If you look at chapter 5, pages 67 & 68 for the Wi-Fi adapter, it shows that the antenna wires are labeled as 1 and 2.

You'd have to let me know what model Wi-Fi adapter your notebook has installed now in order for me to let you know if it would be worth upgrading it.
