Hello.
I got this brand new notebook less than a month ago and it came with a free upgrade to Windows 11 and it is giving me the following error message:
Intel Optane Memory and Storage
Attention required
One of your disks is at risk (SMART event). Please open Intel Optane Memory and Storage Management application for details.
When I click on the message box it opens the Intel Management App which says my system is operating normally. Then when I click the specific tab for Intel Optane Memory it says:
Your system is not Intel Optane Memory Ready
The following requirements were not met:
There are no valid disk pairs in your system
My questions are:
Is this something I need to worry about?
If so, how do I fix it?
If not, how do I make the error messages stop?
I am in way computer technical savvy so if anyone can answer in simple terms for my simple brain I would appreciate it. (I have time to return this thing if that's what I need to do!)
Thanks in advance!

Your machine can be one of the following models/products
https://partsurfer.hp.com/WSearch.aspx?Wchar=Y&searchText=18B36AV
I pick the HP Laptop 17-by4633dx but it says nothing about Optane. Please check Device Manager, Disk drives to see is it here or not.
Regards.

Thank you for your quick reply!
I checked Device Manager and under disk drives it says :
NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLQ256HBJD-00BH1
The only thing I know about Intel for my notebook is the box says: Intel Core i5-1135G& Processor
So, do you think this Optane Memory is something missing from my notebook or its something I don't need and shouldn't be getting these errors?

Hi Bob,
When I realized I wasn't getting any further assistance I continued my own research and ran every single troubleshooting option available to me. I eventually found an article regarding this issue affecting people with Windows 10 who had done an update and started getting the same error message. In very layman's terms my understanding was that the update added software for optane memory for those that had it and people who didn't were then getting the error because the machine couldn't find it (I hope that made some sense). The article said those people just needed to do what you asked - turn off the optane notifications.
I did that and since then (a couple of weeks ago) I haven't gotten the error and have not noticed any change in the performance of my laptop. As I'm not an expert I can't say this is THE ultimate solution but if you try it I hope it works for you, too.

Thank you ! I tried the same thing...disabled the error notification and the problem ceased. Apparently, the manufacturer reconfigured my pc (which does not list Optane) but installed the software for it. I have not uninstalled the Intel Optane app....just disabled the error notification. It works and problem resolved !
