Hi:

Your model's maximum SATA speed is SATA II (3.0 GB/S).

A SATA III SSD will still work but only at the SATA II speed.

It will still be much better than a mechanical hard drive.

Thank you so much, but can I install windows 10 64bit normally without lagging? (my ram is 4gb ddr2)

You're very welcome.

If your notebook has a Pentium processor, it should work pretty good.  Celeron...I'm not sure.

I have an old HP 6930P business notebook with a Pentium P8700 processor, 8 GB of memory, and it runs W10 64 bit just fine.

I installed a SATA III SSD in it a long time ago.

It runs at the SATA II speed and is so much better than the mechanical hard drive it replaced.

by the way I upgraded my T4200 to T9600 processor. It run at windows 7 64bit very slow before upgrade and after upgrade the processor (nothing happen the laptop still running very slow like always not responding when I open chrome and the other software)

Then your PC has an even better processor than mine.

My notebook's service manual indicates the T9900 is the best one I can upgrade to.

I have no idea why your notebook would not run well with the hardware it has.  That is very odd.

But a SSD couldn't hurt.

I am very happy with the way mine works.

Upgrade to W10 first before installing a SSD, and then you can clean install W10 on the SSD for free.

Here is how to get the free upgrade now...

Thanks for your advice, maybe I will use SSD for the last options. Once again thank you so much...

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

You can get a decent performing 250 GB SSD pretty cheap nowadays...

I have this 500 GB model in my Dell desktop PC.

This is the 250 GB one.

The one I have in my HP 6930p is an old Intel 535 120 GB SSD, which they don't make anymore.

Great choice, I will take 240GB SSD maybe that's enough for windows 10 pro 64bit

HP Recommended

It should be plenty.
