Use the utility that I zipped up and attached below to check the specs of the original memory chip and the one you just installed.

 

It should match exactly...timing, etc, or that could cause a problem.

Makes no sense.

 

The old memory runs at 2666 MHz.  The new memory is 2666 MHz, but runs at 2400 MHz.

Apparently this board/BIOS doens't support Intel XMP profiles...
