The audio on my monitor stopped working and I can't get it back again.  I've spent hours online with a helpdesk agent from Microsoft and have gone through all the HP recommended troubleshooting tips (even though they're for Windows 10 only) - driver updates, turning on/off, changing HDMI cable - but nothing helps.

I'm using Windows 11 and have an HP E243m monitor connected via HDMI cable.  The monitor is listed as the default audio output device but the speakers don't actually work and the microphone is shows as Realtek.

I had to reschedule a Teams interview because of this so really need to fix it ASAP.  Can anyone help?

After spending the whole day trying to resolve this issue, it seems the problem is that HP have not updated the drivers for the monitor for Windows 11.  Microsoft's updates mean the drivers no longer work so the only solution is to use a headset when making video calls etc.

Please ALSO connect USB cable from monitor to your computer.
