I think i found a solution , atleast works for me . 

Enter bios by pressing F10 . Go to boot options , and select boot order . After that set your bootabile devices like this : internal dvd-cd writer first , after that the usb devices , 4th the Hdd ( the rest doesnt matter i think . Also enable the other devices like floppy and that internet stuff . save settings and should open normally .

When I ran the hard disk test it said hard disk does not exist. Is there any way for me to get my data. I mostly care about my pictures off my laptop. I really do not care about getting the laptop running again, I just want my family pictures. I was in the process of copying them to an extenal hard drive when the computer shut down on me.

Do you own another notebook or external hard drive enclosure?  If so, you could try connecting it to your PC and retrieving the data.

I once got told that buying even a big computer won't solve a problem ,thought it was a lie,got myself a G72 when I was feeling like a G , now am getting no hard disk when it told me to launch repair which it said was automatic after I forced a shut down due to no response from the pc , the warranty periods is definitely over . After about 30mins to 40mins of running it finally showed up like searching for problems, after it did that,it said fixing the problem, took about an additional one hour to get done with that.then it said it will reboot and said I can click on finish.I did and its meant to restart,instead it said no hard disk,how can a computer behave like that? I will not remove the hard disk and re fix it myself.according to tips on the help site,I will take it to the engineer to remove and re - fix the hard drive and then will restart and hoping this will fix it,if it doesn't ..then HP just got people scammed , I am not saying that yet but I will check definitely and will post the outcome here on the site ...

The problem with this error 3F0 is the HDD to start off with and at the same time HP techs won't inform you on how to resolve the issue after the new HDD is put in because they know exactly how to resolve this. What you have to do is go into the BIOS in the boot options, change your boot order to internal DVD-RW drive or CD drive as the first boot device in both sections because you will see 2 areas that you can change this, enable legacy support, change your "UEFI" or something like that to both options example "UEFI + XXXX" and then save your changes.

After the reboot it will prompt you to enter a series of numbers + ENTER to make the changes and once that is done it will boot off your installation CD and recognize your HDD 100%  as I am installing it right now and so sorry for the "UEFI blah blah blah"....but it is there!

I work from home fixing electronics and this took me approx. 30 minutes to figure this out because one of my customers laptop model HP DV2000 was having this problem. God I hate HP laptops!

The only solution I found to the problem is to buy a HDD enclosure and get my data on to another machine, which is NOT an HP.  Also, less than two months after my original incident in October of 2012, my HP desktop's HDD did the exact same thing!  I bought it the same day as the laptop in a "Bundle" deal that Best Buy had that also included an HP Mini.  I thought it was a great deal because it also came with a 21" monitor!  Well, not such a great deal.  The mini's wireless failed after less than a year of use.  The only thing I have left is the monitor, which still worked last time I checked.

The fact that the two HDDs failed within such a short time period tells me that either HP's quality went downhill, or they put HDDs in that are designed to die after less than 3 years of moderate use.  I do not plan to buy any more HP products in the future.  Don't even get me started on the HP All-in-One printer I bought. 

I have purchased a Mac, and have fully gone to the Apple-shaped dark side.

I work as an IT specialist and I fix more HP laptops with GPU and motherboard issues more than any other brand out there and totally understand your frustrations as for the people that have come to me expresses the same problems as yourself.

This 3F0 issue is not just a HDD problem but also a BIOS issue that needs to be addressed as they have disable or changed a few settings to "prevent" the average user so he cannot install Windows. There are things that need to be changed for you to start the installation and if not, you'll keep seeing the no bootable warning and cannot get any further.
