I am on IOS Ventura 13.3.1
I have an HP monitor that works great except that the built in camera NEVER registers on ANY device. I don't know if it because I am using a mac or what but I would love if it actually worked. How do you even check if it's working if it never registers?

Hi @IhateMS,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the built-in camera on your HP monitor. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Ensure camera privacy settings: Some HP monitors have a privacy feature that allows you to physically cover the camera when not in use. Make sure the camera isn't covered or blocked.
- Check physical connections: Ensure that the USB cable connecting the monitor to your computer is securely plugged in on both ends. If you're using a separate power cable for the monitor, ensure it's properly connected as well.
- Update drivers: Visit the HP support website and search for the model of your monitor. Look for the latest drivers and firmware updates for the monitor's camera. Download and install any available updates, as they may contain fixes for known issues.
- Check device manager: Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager" from the menu. Expand the "Cameras" or "Imaging devices" category and check if the built-in camera is listed. If you see a yellow exclamation mark or any other error indicator, right-click on the camera and select "Update driver" to install the latest driver software.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart your computer and see if the camera starts working afterward.
- Test in different applications: Try using the camera in different applications, such as Skype, Zoom, or the default camera app on your computer. This can help determine if the issue is specific to a particular application or if it's a general problem with the camera.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Can you identify the monitor? Mac OS has drivers for a limited list of hardware. Very likely the built in camera is a type that the Mac OS does not support. If you go into the system information in the Mac OS odds are the device will show up as disabled because of no driver. HP will not have a Mac OS driver for it.
