Hello,

I was wondering if someone can help me find a solution for my painfully slow download speed? I recently just upgraded my 1TB HDD to a 1TB SSD. I cloned it and installed the SSD, and everything worked great, boot time was faster, applications felt faster. However, when I try to download anything, I’ve noticed that my download speed became unbelievable slow. It used to download things pretty quickly but now it seems like it downloads at about 1mb/s.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Detecting and removing spyware and adware
  • Step 2: Scanning for and removing viruses
  • Step 3: Blocking browser pop-ups
  • Step 4: Clearing browser history, removing temporary Internet files, and resetting browser settings
  • Step 5: Updating network drivers
  • Step 6: Disabling software that opens with Windows
  • Step 7: Contacting your Internet Service Provider
  • Step 8: Disabling or modifying how programs access the Internet

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
