Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 15m-bp112dx that has a charging issue I suspect is motherboard related after a replacement battery resulted in no changes. The device is out of warranty but I was curious if HP had any paid warranty options to get the motherboard replaced? The only options it seems to give me is to pay for one of the tech support plans which seem to be only software based support. I know Dell has options for paying for the cost of the repair when out of warranty but I wasn't sure if HP had a similar option or not. The other option is replacing it or buying a motherboard and replacing it myself but needed to cover all the options.

You have pretty well identified your options. Having HP replace a motherboard out of warranty would be the single most expensive way to do it. And they only do it reluctantly if at all. Probably would make a new laptop look pretty good by comparison. We can help you find a motherboard and help with manual and probably a video showing the repair step by step. The motherboard itself is likely to cost $200-300. There are also high tech shops who sell services on eBay and amazon and can rework a bad board at the chip level. I have helped a few friends and family find a shop to do that and have had good luck with the results. Folks still using their laptop a year and a half later. Those services run at about $150 US or a bit less and you send them the laptop and they send it back fixed or no charge if they can't fix it.

What shop/s might you recommend - I have helped a few friends and family find a shop to do that and have had good luck with the results. Folks still using their laptop a year and a half later. I am not sure what is going on other than the laptop is dead - no lights, no boot up.  Was listening to music via headphones in another room - and thevlap top went dead.

thanks for any direction

I would just go on eBay and search "laptop motherboard repair" or "HP laptop motherboard repair" and you will find quite a few. Check their feedback maybe try to call them and ask for references. I do not know these, just a start for you:
