HP ENVY x360 - m6-ar004dx (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Seeking suggestions for this Restart boot up issue.

Laptop is an M6-AR004dx, with an AMD FX 7th Gen special edition 9800P, with Radeon R7.

Performed a new Win 10 install on SSD.  Power On boots to Win 10 with no issues, and laptop performs well.

Perform Restart from Power menu and laptop post Bios message "no Drive detected" - 305 error code.

Then, selecting F10, and F10, and yes / enter, normal boot up is obtained.

Placed org Hard Drive back in service, and it does not incur this Restart issue.

Could this be a Trusted Platform issue?  Do the TPM Keys need to be deleted??

Bios is updated with most recent 2022 version.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

G

This issue could be related to the boot order in the BIOS settings or a missing boot loader on the SSD. To troubleshoot, you can try the following steps:

  1. Access the BIOS settings by restarting the laptop and pressing the appropriate key to enter the BIOS (usually Del, Esc, or F2)
  2. Navigate to the boot menu and ensure that the SSD is listed as the first boot device
  3. If the SSD is not listed, select "Add boot option" and follow the prompts to add the SSD as the boot device
  4. Save the changes and restart the laptop
  5. If the issue still persists, try reinstalling the boot loader on the SSD

If the issue still persists, it's possible that there is a hardware problem with the SSD or the system is not recognizing the SSD correctly. In this case, you may need to replace the SSD or seek professional assistance.

Hi Yoshihisa-Yokoi
Thanks for the reply.  Here is what I find based on your suggestion.

With Secure Boot Enabled, and selecting F9 for the Boot order, there are no bootable devices listed.

With Secure Boot Disabled, the F9 Boot order list the SDD and USB as devices available for selection.

With Secure Boot Disabled, Power > Reset works as desired in Win 10, with the laptop Restarting and booting up properly.
Question, is this the result of not Disabling Secure Boot when Win 10 was installed on the SSD?

What process are required to get the SSD recognized during Power-Restart with Secure Boot Enabled.

Is this issue a Secure Boot Keys issue?
Thanks again,

G
