Hi! My laptop's battery is nearly useless now (it only holds its charge for a few minutes when the laptop is on and it's starting to swell) so I want to replace it. It's about 8 years old now, so no big deal, it's to be expected.
But I'm not sure how to go about finding a replacement. What do I need to search for?
I can see on the product specification page that it's: 3-cell, 61.5Wh Li-ion
- So do I just need to find any 3-cell 61.5Wh battery?
- Are there other specs I need to check?
- What kind of price range should I expect? If it's dirt cheap, it's likely to be low quality, right?
- Are there any reputable battery sellers out there I should check first?
I've never replaced a battery before so not sure how to begin. Any help appreciated, thanks!

The Maintenance & Service guide for your laptop
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357609.pdf
(See chapter 3, pg 23, item 20)
3 cell prismatic battery - 61.5 Whr (5360 mAh), for use with products with Intel 6th
generation processors or Intel 7th generation processors with AMD Radeon hybrid
graphics
HP Part number HP 849910-850
- So do I just need to find any 3-cell 61.5Wh battery? NO. It must have the HP Part number
- Are there other specs I need to check? No
- What kind of price range should I expect? If it's dirt cheap, it's likely to be low quality, right? On Amazon, if the number of stars is low it means buyers have not had good service or the product has had issues of some type.
- Are there any reputable battery sellers out there I should check first? Highly rated sellers on Amazon.co.uk.

Thank you, that part number is really helpful for narrowing it down. It looks like TE03XL is the battery model I need to be looking for.
The item you linked has 5 stars but only 1 review so hard to be certain if it can be trusted, but I appreciate the link and information. I was asking about price range as most were about £25-50 but some were over £200-300.
Many thanks for the help.

There is absolutely no way I would pay £200-300 for a laptop battery.
Those sellers are just fishing.
