HP 2021 Envy 17t High Performance Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1.  Received laptop on Oct 13 with Windows 10 Home installed. Did not upgraded to Win 11 during set up.

2.  Then, installed Win 11.

3.  Lost access to Word and Excel.

4.  Did "go back" to Win 10.

5. No longer have Word or Excel. After original .

How/can I get back Windows 10 Home with Word and Excel without purchasing them? Nothing critical on the laptop.

Thanks and I really appreciate your help.

Jerry

It has option for you to KEEP existing users data files and programs. Probably you ignored that

By the way, did you actually buy MS Office or that is ONLY a TRIAL version ? What is the model/product of your machine ? HP 2021 Envy 17t High Performance Laptop does not mean anything in terms of HP model/product.

Regards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. This is the first time I've used Community and was delighted to find it.

I did not use the Keep option.

I bought the laptop from Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0911FR849/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  It did not say Windows 10 Home was a trial.

Model #  17t-cg100

Product # 19s93av

I know I kinda dug a hole for myself but I want to avoid having to buy Office Personal

Thanks again for taking the time out of your life to help.

Sincerely,

Jerry

It is a CTO machine and you could be able to pay EARLY Office 365 version. You can use TRIAL version for 30 or 60 days. After that, you have to pay Microsoft to get a key to be able to activate the product. Nothing we can do actually.

You may be able to TRY again using following link

              https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365/try

I paid few versions of MS Office product (different years) and installed on few machines. For the rest, I use

          https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/1438/office-software/office-8

Another day, they gave me a good deal: I can install to 5 machines using one license key for the price of 1 license and my email address when activate.

The following product is free

Thanks again for the great information.

What confuses me is that the laptop as advertised on the Amazon website says it includes Windows 10 Home. It does not say it is a trial unless I missed it.

I guess my fundamental question is, does Windows 10 come with a non-trial Home?
