HP Laptop 15-bs2xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For the past few months, my laptop has been dying as soon as I unplug it. I searched up what could be the reason and my answers came up as it either needs a new battery or there is something wrong with the settings. I ran a few tests to check the settings and from what I saw, nothing came up wrong there. I’ve had my laptop for almost 3 years so it could be that it needs a new battery but I was not sure.

Hi Renane,

If I understood correctly, your laptop powers off directly when you unplug the power cable. If it's the case, yes it's your battery.

As it seems to be external, replacing it will be painless 🙂

As far as I know, there is no setting that prevent battery to do its job.
