Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has the exact same burn spot as shown in the thread below. Everything was working fine, computer plugged in overnight, then it wouldn't turn on. Removed the back cover and there was a burn hole in the white sticker near the fan. Is HP fixing these as a design defect? Mine has been sitting for over a year and is definitely out of warranty. Please show me some HP love!

As I mentioned, my device is out of warranty. The only options I get are links to "Visit the HP Support Community" and "Find nearest HP Service Center".  I will contact the nearest service center (150 miles away), but unless they do power supply troubleshooting and SMD rework, the only solution will be "replace the motherboard".

I was hoping HP would decide to step up and fix this issue, as it appears to be a common problem with this line of notebooks. The link in my original post points to hundreds of other people with the same problem. There is literally a hole burned through the sticker on my motherboard where the CPU power supply FETs are located. I will probably end up stripping it down for parts...
