HI,

The cursor of my laptop sometimes moves to the top left corner and cannot be moved to another place. This does not happen very often.  Lately, I found it is related to the USB port. I record the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxlXu4SkML4.

Arround 33 to 53 seconds in the video, the cursor cannot move. If the USB connection removed, it will be normal again. Anyone knows what is the issue? Thanks.

Note: the usb connects to the HP color LaserJet CM1312 MFP.

Welcome to HP support community.

Update the Bios and Chipset drivers

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description,

Uninstall USB Root Hubs

  1. From the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel.
  2. Click System.
  3. Select the Hardware tab.
  4. Click Device Manager.
  5. Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus controllers. You will see entries called Universal Root Hub.
  6. Right-click each one and select Uninstall.
  7. Restart your PC.
  8. version number, and file size.

  9. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Let me know if that helps.

I request you to talk to HP support for further assistance.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
