Hp pavilion gaming laptop 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have only had this laptop a little over 2 years, yesterday I went to turn it on and it blue screened me, I waited for it and then was able to get onto my desktop and update and troubleshoot.. it was completely fine, so today when I tried to use it again it came up with a black screen and codes, it then went mental and did this (see picture)

my friend said maybe it’s the battery, so I disconnected it and then tried to turn it on straight from the mains without the battery and the same thing happened, light on the power button flashed on but nothing else happened, any advice is welcome!

@Nadineeeeeeeee

This is almost certainly an indication of failing video hardware -- either the screen or the video chip or both.

You need to connect an external monitor to the laptop.

If the visual artifacts also appear on the monitor, then it is a failing video chip and since those are soldered to the motherboard, they are not replaceable.

If the visual artifacts do NOT appear on the monitor, then it is a failing laptop screen. While those can be replaced, the cost varies enormously by individual PC model.

We are not able, or permitted, to provide any repair estimates or equipment prices.
For this information, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.

Hello,

thank you for your response, I tried the trouble shooting method and you are right in thinking it is the video chip, so by not replaceable you mean the laptop is a write off? I have had this laptop a little over 2 years.. I have been trying to contact HP for advice on where service centres are but apparently the closest one is 6 hours away from me? This is honestly ridiculous and this has all of my diploma work from the last year on it and I cannot lose it, I’m useless with technology so have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to things breaking but this is an absolute MINEFIELD.

I have taken care of this laptop as if it was a baby, I don’t understand how after 2 years it can just break like that.. sorry for being a Karen I’m just really stressed out with this because I can’t get a clear solution from anybody, thank you for your help I appreciate you diagnosing the problem
