HP 250 G8 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently purchased laptop HP 250 G8 Notebook PC and charging through the USB-C port does not work, I'm using a 65W recharger. Not an HP one.

The specs of your machine is

               https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06951526#AbT8

It has

   (3) USB-A 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports
   (1) USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (data transfer only)
   (1) HDMI v1.4b (cable sold separately)
   (1) Headphone/microphone combo jack
   (1) RJ-45 (Ethernet) port
   (1) AC power port

It ONLY has 1 USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (data transfer only) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter

Regards.
